Replacement bulb for Epson push development laser projection technology

Japan Seiko Epson Corporation and United States jointly announced that the company recently Novalux: both sides will jointly develop with Novalux of NECSEL (TM)-based commercial laser light source technology, and look forward to in the near future can produce high quality, high performance, low-cost products, thereby replacing the current widely used in rear-projection TV lamp UHP (UHP).

Laser light source can throw out a broader color space, and better light efficiency. Only the current device because of output power, volume and cost issues, also cannot achieve in rear-projection TV product of large-scale commercial application. This cooperation aimed at Epson rear projection TV and precision processing technology, surface with Novalux company launch-type semiconductor laser technology, developed over several times more than existing products, bright high power laser source. Use the new technology of projection products will have the following advantages:

* Superior image quality: high energy and narrow light angle will make extraordinary brightness and contrast; a current projection using UHP lamp can improve colour reproduction, resulting in dramatic interpretation of the perfect picture quality. * Long service life: and traditional projectors, light source has a longer service life will eliminate the need to replace the lamp. * More spacious levels compared with UHP lamp: the new projection products will have broader color space, color sharp. * Faster compared to the corresponding speed: current projection products, new products can achieve faster open and shut down. * Lower cost: new laser source module eliminates the polarizer and filter needs, simplify optical system structure, reducing costs.

Epson has invented the world's first 3LCD projector, and has many advanced imaging technology, leading the projection industry development. This cooperation both parties expect to projection industry further growth. Expected development of the laser source and put into use will bring to market a wider color performance, longer life, contrast higher rear-projection products.
